Blue Panorama Chooses Cockpit Security Video System from AD Aerospace

Blue Panorama Chooses Cockpit Security Video System from AD Aerospace
11 October 2007

Blue Panorama Airlines, the young, innovative Italian airline, has selected AD Aerospace Ltd, UK, to provide video based cockpit security systems for its fleet of Boeing commercial airliners. The CabinVu Cockpit Door Monitoring Systems will enhance pilots situational awareness within the aircraft and enhance the security of the cockpit.

“We selected AD Aerospace as not only is CabinVu an excellent solution but they were able to meet our tight deadlines as the system already has STCs for our aircraft types,” said Roberto Ravignani of Blue Panorama Airlines. “ This will add to the already high levels of safety and security we offer our passengers and crew.”

CabinVu provides pilots with a forward looking, clear and unobstructed view of the area outside the cockpit door and in the adjacent galleys from their usual seated positions. A series of cameras link to either one or two monitors and controllers in the cockpit set forward of the pilots for ease and comfort of use.

This means that the pilots can visually identify anyone requesting entry and take appropriate action should an incident arise. This is in line with recommendations from International Civil Aviation Organisation ICAO Annex 6, JAR-OPS 1,1255 and EUROCAE ED-123.

“We at AD Aerospace are delighted to win Blue Panorama Airlines as our latest customer for CabinVu,” said Mike Horne, Managing Director, AD Aerospace Ltd. “I’m sure their pilots and crew will find it a very useful addition to the safety and security of the aircraft.

FlightVu equipment has been or is being installed on aircraft for, Boeing, Neos, Blue Panorama, Orient Thai, Comair, Hong Kong Express, Hong Kong Airways, bmi, British Airways, JetBlue, Thomsonfly, Air Asia, Corsair, easyJet, Hainan, Germania, TUIfly, Sama and MyTravel amongst others.
